For the last few years we have collected for the St Lawrence Children's Hospice in Cernavoda, Romania, and the St Luke's Children's Hospital and Hospice in Albania. This December, Children in Distress celebrates its 10th anniversary and the work in Romania has grown to include St Christopher's Children's Hospice, Slobozia, and St Margaret's Children's Hospice, Bucharest. In addition, there is a drop-in centre in Bucharest for children living in the sewers and on the streets.
All these projects still urgently need our support. We want to target our Harvest Thanksgiving once more to Children in Distress and therefore ask that, instead of produce, you bring some of the following badly needed items as your Harvest Gift. Thank you.
Ongoing financial support is still urgently needed to make sure that these projects can continue long enough for the local economy to recover sufficiently for the local people to take over responsibility for these projects. If you would like to make a donation to the vital work of Children in Distress, please see Yvonne or Alan Jesson (01954 230337).
