WHAT makes a good Christmas?
If we're to believe the adverts, it's all a matter of what you buy. For some younger folks, it's a question of what presents they get. For others, it‘s what they eat that counts; for others, how much they manage to drink.
How many products have we seen offered in the last few weeks labelled 'The Perfect Gift' - as if we‘re all alike and will all be pleased with exactly the same thing?
There is but one perfect Christmas gift and this is offered afresh to each and every one of us every Christmas. This gift to us comes from God himself. It is his Son Jesus, the baby born in Bethlehem, the Christchild.
And if only we can bring ourselves to accept this God-given gift into our hearts this Christmas, then he can transform our lives and put all other gifts into the shade. Jesus is the only perfect gift. After all, Christ comes first in Christmas.
