ON 23rd April, a team from St Andrew's, Swavesey, took part in 'Monopoly Live' - a life-size Monopoly game played out on the streets of London and organised by David Waters, the Ely Diocesan Youth Officer.
The aim was to visit as many places as possible featured on the Monopoly board and photograph the team there with a 'board marker' specially made for the occasion.
In the event, over 100 young people from around the Diocese took part and the game was keenly fought out with meticulous planning and skilful use of all the means that the London Transport System can offer.
Sadly, the Swavesey team didn't win the prize for the most places visited - that honour went to the team from the Sutton benefice. But they did win the prize for the most creative 'board piece' - a giant scroll of the 'battleship' and flying the St Andrew's flag.
The prize - an inflatable cube (whatever that is) - will be awarded on Sunday 24th July when David Waters will come to St Andrew's and preach at the 11.00am Family Service.
Congratulations to all involved!
